MORNING PRAYER (Tuesday 22^nd March 2022)

GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE

It is interesting that we become more engaged

when a personal story is told, rather than when

we are offered a statement of values with no

story line.

Luke’s Gospel has a special set of parables and

images that people warm towards instantly.

Life moments captured in stories are readily

identified and offer inspiration.

MORNING PRAYER (Monday 21^st March 2022)

In this time of preparation we are called to holiness. Let us bring our prayer before the God of all.

That the Church will be a vigorous sign of God’s presence in the world.

(pause) Lord hear us.

Lord, hear our prayer.

That governments and those in authority will show respect for human life (pause) in your mercy.

Lord, hear our prayer.

That those who encounter loss or failure will find encouragement, support and other opportunities.

(pause) Lord, hear our prayer.

That Russia will call a halt to its assault on Ukraine and instead collaborate on building a just and

safe world. (pause) Lord, hear our prayer.

That those offering safe haven and assistance to refugees will receive ongoing support in their efforts.

(pause) Lord, hear our prayer.

God of glory, you have called us all to enter into your holy place. Hear these prayers we place before

you and help us to walk the sacred path to Easter. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Plenary Council Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit of Pentecost

Come, Holy Spirit of the great South Land.

O God, bless and unite all your people in Australia

and guide us on the pilgrim way of the Plenary Council.

Give us the grace to see your face in one another

And to recognise Jesus, our companion on the road.

Give us the courage to tell our stories

And to speak boldly of your truth.

Give us ears to listen humbly to each other

And a discerning heart to hear what you are saying.

Lead your church into a hope-filled future,

That we may live the joy of the Gospel.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord,

bread for the journey from age to age.

Amen.
