Cha nghĩ sao ? - Thắc mắc 2 : Năm nay con 55 tuổi, chàng thì 16 và chàng đòi tán tỉnh con. Xin hỏi Cha, nếu con nhượng bộ, liệu con có mang tiếng là gái nhẹ dạ không ? - Thắc mắc 3 : Hai đứa chúng con cùng 99 tuổi rưỡi. Chàng vừa mới bỏ con đi với bà khác. Buồn quá con định kết liễu đời mình. Xin Cha cho con lời khuyên nên nhảy lầu hay thắt cổ, và nếu thắt cổ con nên chọn nút thắc thòng lòng hay nút chân chó ?

Mấy ngày sau khi ông nội của bé Lan chết, con bé tìm thấy ở góc nhà đôi kính trắng của ông, nó mếu máo la lên : - Ôi, ông nội về trời mà quên mang theo kính, ở trên ấy làm sao mà ông thấy đường nổi cơ chứ ! Má Lan hết lời an ủi con. Sau đó một thời gian, được má dẫn đi thăm một người bà con đang hấp hối trên giường bệnh, Lan phấn khởi hỏi người bệnh : - Bác ơi, Bác sắp được lên trời phải không ạ ? Người bệnh thều thào đáp lại : - Phải, nếu đẹp lòng Chúa. Mọi người hiện diện hết sức ngạc nhiên khi thấy Lan rút trong túi áo ra đôi kính trắng rồi nghe nó nói thật ngây thơ: - Bác làm ơn giúp cháu chuyển kính này cho ông nội của cháu. Ông đi về trên ấy mà quên mang kính theo. R
Trên giảng đài, cha sở già giảng lễ cưới hôm ấy.Vừa bắt đầu bằng câu : "Hôm nay là lễ thành hôn giữa..." thì tờ giấy có ghi tên đôi hôn nhân bị gió làm bay xuống phía dưới giáo dân dự lễ. Một số người biềt sự việc đã loay hoay tìm giúp Cha tờ giấy. Ðể không bị gián đoạn Cha già lập lại công thức ban đầu: " Hôm nay là lễ thành hôn giữa...". Vừa lúc ấy từ trên giảng đài, nhìn ra chỗ tờ giấy vừa rơi xuống, cha già nói tiếp : "... Giữa hàng ghế thứ nhất và hàng ghề thứ hai kia kìa". Thật là một lễ thành hôn độc đáo.

Lord Jesus Christ, through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes and the inspiration of St. Bernadette, You raised up Father Thomas Price as the first priest from North Carolina and instilled in his heart a desire to spread Your word to fields afar, Especially in the United States.
On this 100th anniversary of his death in Hong Kong, may his example reignite the love of the faith starting here in America and overflowing to the farthest corners of the world.
I now ask the intercession of Servant of God Thomas Price that he may be raised up to the company of saints.

Today I am writing to you from Hong Kong—where I have a special mission to perform!
This Thursday, the Catholic Church will remember a great and inspirational missioner whose example of love and compassion is still being felt throughout the world. I speak with love and admiration of Maryknoll’s co-founder, Father Thomas Frederick Price. Along with Cardinal John Tong and other dignitaries, I will concelebrate a memorial Mass for Father Price who entered eternal life on September 12, one hundred years ago.
Father Price was in the first class of Maryknoll missioners who went to southern China in 1918. Sadly, after only one year, he fell ill and died in Hong Kong, cutting short his dream of overseas mission.
“And may the gracious care of the Lord our God be ours: prosper the work of our hands for us!”
~ Psalm 90:17
The impact of his all-too-brief life continues to inspire the Church—and missioners like me. Father Price lived by the words inscribed on his tomb: “In caritate, non ficta” or “In sincere love”—loving without prejudice, witnessing the compassion of Our Lord with an open heart. That was Father Price. He had genuine love for everyone he met.
From his earliest years, Father Price had a special devotion to Our Blessed Mother whose Nativity we celebrate today. Imagine this: In 1908, he began writing her a daily letter, sharing the challenges and joys he encountered as diocesan clergy in North Carolina—the state’s first Catholic priest!
Dinh, Father Price is every missioner’s inspiration to love and serve the Lord. Today, he has the title, Servant of God, one of the first steps toward sainthood in the Church. In his honor—and because of his sincere and enduring love—the Maryknoll family remembers our co-founder, Father Thomas Frederick Price. Please celebrate along with me in prayer and thanksgiving for his gift of mission.

Prayer for 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mary, most holy Mother of God, as we celebrate your birth whom God ordained to bring our Lord Jesus Christ into the world we remember in a special way this day on which 100 years ago God called Father Thomas Price home to heaven.
He, whose heart beat with sincerest love for you and your Son, spent his life to bring Christ’s love to people in the United States and in the world.
Grant that we, too, might look upon and love the peoples of the world with that same pure love that filled Your immaculate heart the sacred heart of Your Son and the heart of Father Thomas Price.
