Reflection for Justice and Peace

If you had a tracking device implanted in you,

how would your daily life reflect the life of Jesus?

While there is suffering in the world,

we should be uncomfordable.

While there is injustice in the world, we should be frustrated.

While there is pain in the world, we should be crying out.

While there is inequality in the world,

we should be inconvenienced.

While there is disregard to human dignity in the world

we should be disgraced.

While there are people on this earth, we should love.

Mary is our model of a truly compassionate person and so we can pray to her in times of need.

A prayer to Mary:

Remember, most loving Virgin Mary

Never was it heard

That anyone who turned to you for help

Was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence.

Though burdened by my sins,

I run to your protection

For you are my mother.

Mother of the word of God,

Do not despise my words of pleading

but be merciful and hear my pray.

Angel sent by God to guide me,

Be my light and walk beside me,

Be my guardian and protect me,

On the paths of life direct me.

MORNING PRAYER (Monday 22 June 2020)

Dear Lord,

Give me, amidst the confusion of my day,

the calmness  of the everlasting hills.

Break the tension of my nerves and muscles with the soothing

music of the singing streams that live in my memories.

Help me to know the magical, restorative power of Thy touch.

Teach me the art of taking little breaks, slowing down to look

at a flower, to chat with a friend or pat a dog.
