                                                     CIRCLE OF MERCY

In Merci we touch the hearts of those who are in misery

In Merci we’re touched by them and feel their strength and courage

In Merci we heal the pain of those who are in sorrow

In Merci we’re healed by them and see the face of hope.

In Merci we welcome those the world has left rejected

In Merci we’re drawn within the loving heart of God

In Merci we forgive the incompleteness in another

In Merci our sins are healed and we are whole again.

In Merci the Spirit Faith will keep us in God’s presence

In Merci the Spirit Hope will lift us out of doubt

In Merci the Love of God will be our joy in living

In Merci we join with one another on our journey.

For the circle of Merci is timeless

It is Spirit of Life itself

Which grounds us in Faith

And lifts us in Hope

And holds us in God’s loving care

And holds us in God’s loving care.

MORNING PRAYER (Tuesday 12^th January 2021)

                         VISION FOR THE FUTURE

VISION for the future…

The leader of a certain Indian tribe encamped at the base of a mountain, was dying. The chief summoned his three sons and said, “I am dying and one of you must succeed me as the head of our tribe. I want each of you to climb our holy mountain and bring back something beautiful. The one whose gift is the most outstanding will succeed me.

After several days the sons returned. The first brought his father a flower which grew near the summit and was extremely rare and beautiful. The second son brought his father a stone which was colourful, smooth and round, having been polished by rain and sandy winds. The third son’s hand was empty.

He said, “Father, I have brought nothing back to show you. As I stood on top of the holy mountain what I saw on the other side was a beautiful land filled with green pastures and a crystal lake. And I had a vision of where our tribe could go for a better life. I was so overwhelmed by what I saw and by what I was thinking that I could not bring anything back.

And the father replied, “My son, you shall be our tribe’s new leader, for you have brought back the most precious thing of all – the gift of a vision for a better future.

MORNING PRAYER (Wednesday 13 January 2021)

                   TEACH ME THY WAY, O LORD  

                                                    SUSCIPE

My God, I am Thine for time and eternity.

Teach me to cast my whole self

into the arms of Thy Providence, with most lively, unbounded confidence in Thy compassionate, tender pity.

Grant , O most Merciful Redeemer,

that whatever Thou dost ordain or permit may always be acceptable to me.

Take from my heart all painful anxiety.

Suffer nothing to afflict me but sin;

nothing to delight me but the hope of coming to Thee,

my God, in Thine own Everlasting Kingdom.

Amen.

A REFLECTION

“SHALOM

BE AT PEACE *

I UNDERSTAND” is the

constant word of Jesus

to the Apostles and to us.

               Peace in all the

storms of life.

               Peace when your heart

is sinking at failure.

               Peace when your world seems to be falling in on you.

               Peace in the monotony

and endlessness of small things.

               Peace in the watching

and waiting when your heart is

anxious and your hands are useless

to do anything. But most of all.

               Peace with your human

weakness, when you can’t seem

to do anything right.
