Dear God,

When I thought you would shame me, you loved me.

When I thought you wouldn’t  understand, you understood.

When I felt I couldn’t go on, you carried me.

When I turned away from you, you guided me right back to you.

When I was scared and confused, you assured me.

When I was burdened by sorrow, you took the load away.

When the world turned it’s back on me, you were there.

I thought you would leave me, but you never stopped loving me.

  Blessed are we …. who are free to allow visions and dreams to be.

  Blessed are we …. who welcome angels and trust in strangers.

  Blessed are we …. who admit in humility the truth of our poverty.

  Blessed are we …. who are open to possibilities and smile at the impossible.

  Blessed are we …. who extend hands of communion healing threats of separation.

  Blessed are we …. who have strength to be weak.

  Blessed are we …. who live in waiting and surrender to the timeless.

  God of merciful love, to you we entrust our prayers and petitions of a people who rejoice in your unfailing presence.

  During this National Refugee Week, let us celebrate all the good things done for our country by refugees.

  Merciful God, continue to be a light to those in darkness. May your saving grace reach out to all for whom we pray today. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

  MORNING PRAYER (Tuesday 22nd June 2021)

  For the gift of faithfulness:

  To live the Gospel as You preached it plainly and simply;

  Response: Lord hear us.

  For the gift of sensitivity:

  To empty ourselves and serve the needs of others and gently wash their feet;

  Response: Lord hear us.

  For the gift of honesty:

  To see things as they really are. To especially see the things we do not want to see;

  For the gift of patience:

  To wait for the fullness of Your kingdom coming to birth in ourselves and in others;

  For the gift of kindness:

  To let go of things that do not matter and work for the healing of injustice;

  To stand sure and convinced of the need to stay with what cries out to be served;

  To move into unknown and untried. To see the opportunities of each day. To serve the compassion, imagination and courage.
