    Dear Deacon Nguyen,

    Yesterday, we celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany, bringing our celebration of the Christmas season to a close. I can think of no better way to close this season of giving than to thank you for your support of mission during 2019.

    The apostle tells us, “We receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.” Your generous support made it possible for Maryknoll missioners in Asia, Africa and Latin America to minister to the hungry, the sick and the marginalized. I believe this pleases our Lord, and with your continued support we will continue to do so.

    Please accept my best wishes for the New Year. And if you haven’t yet, please click here and take a moment to view my Christmas message, in which I share some thoughts on the important work of mission and your role in it.
