    MORNING PRAYER (Monday 12 August 2019)

    A REFLECTION (Luke 12:32-48)

    KEEP AWAKE TILL HE COMES. The early Christians applied this teaching of Jesus to their expectation of his second coming. More generally speaking, today’s Gospel parables should encourage us to be morally vigilant at all times and ever ready to encounter, in the midst of daily life, the ‘God of surprises’. Paul has similar advice for us: ‘Keep alert, stand firm in your faith’ (1 Cor 16: 13).
