                THE ASCENSION

     

    MORNING PRAYER (Monday 17th May 2021)

    Yesterday we celebrated The Ascension of the Lord. Mark tells us that Jesus showed himself to the Eleven, and said to them, ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; he who does not believe will be condemned.’ He withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they were continually in the temple blessing God.

    As we await Pentecost Sunday let us remember that when Jesus was carried up to heaven he did not leave us alone. We are always, every moment of every day, blessed and filled with the joy of his presence.
