“There can be miracles when you believe”

    Dear Deacon Nguyen,

Have you ever met someone on fire for God?

Such people just can’t keep quiet about what God has for them. Once the Lord is visible in our lives, we just can’t shut up about it!
“When he had risen, early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told his companions who were mourning… they did not believe... [But] later, as the eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised. He said to them, ‘Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.’”
    ~ Mark 16:9, 10:14-15
When Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome went out to embalm Jesus’ body, their hopes that the great Rabbi was the true Messiah were dashed. But Mary of Magdala went from being deeply grieved to going down in history as the first to see our Risen Lord!

Imagine their surprise when the two-ton stone had been moved and Christ was gone. Who could have taken their Rabbi and why? The most miraculous event in history was followed by an avalanche of faith. Once Mary got a glimpse of Christ’s face, she ran to the apostles. Once the apostles went out, Christianity spread like wildfire.

Dinh, are you on fire this Easter morning? So go! Proclaim the Good News to all the world today and every day. We can’t help but share it with everyone once we get a glimpse of Jesus’ face. Look into our Savior’s eyes and tell the world that Jesus conquered death for you and for me. He is not here, He is risen!
Father Raymond J. Finch, M.M. Sincerely yours in Christ,
    Father Raymond J. Finch, M.M.
    Prayer for Easter Sunday
    With heavy hearts we mourn
    Your death, Lord Jesus,
    as we accompany Mary Magdalene
    and the other holy women
to the tomb where our hope
    lies buried.

Our tears of sorrow turn to those
of unspeakable joy when we see
not so much an empty tomb
but a heart and world filled
with the glory of Your Resurrection.

You are truly risen, Lord Jesus!
    You remain with us still!
may we share this wonderful news
    with everyone we meet by
    reflecting Your truth
in everything we say and do.

    Amen.
    ~ Father Joseph R. Veneroso, M.M.
