    Walk in the footsteps of St. Oscar Romero. Hear the story Blessed Fr. Stanley Rother and concelebrate Mass in his beautiful Lake Atitlan community. Pray on holy ground where four women religious were martyred. Visit the Central American University where the six Jesuits were assassinated along with their cook and her daughter.  Join Maryknoll on its 21st Annual Pilgrimage Retreat to Central America this January (13-24) in Guatemala and El Salvador to the sites of 20th century Christian martyrs.     "Several years ago, I had the experience of a lifetime, as I participated in the Pilgrimage/Retreat to Central America, sponsored by Maryknoll. On this pilgrimage, you will walk in the footsteps of the modern day martyrs. You will pray with disciples of the Lord that worked with Saint Oscar Romero. You will visit the chapel where the Saint was martyred, on 24 March 1981. You will visit the Cathedral in El Salvador and pray at his grave. You will visit the site where sisters and a laywoman were murdered in 1980. Their crime? Loving the poor as Jesus calls us to do, and speaking out in the cause of justice. You will visit the University of Central America where six Jesuits, their housekeeper and her daughter were murdered[...] Please know how strongly I urge priests and deacons to participate: this pilgrimage moved my heart profoundly and the fruits of that Pilgrimage experience continue to inform my life."
